The word from the factory:
"I would not go so far as to say that the warranty is voided however if a problem were to present itself and the holes drilled in were determined to be a contributing factor then the repair may not be covered under warranty." I think you're probably okay as long as they are sealed good. If you have the boat in to a dealer at some point you may want to have them take a look just for peace of mind.

Well i ran the transom cable and what a pain it was. The provided string was zip tied to the wire harness down toward the bottom of the console. I ended up taking up the floor and running it by hand the last 1/3 of the run... Well glad its over now, time for the spring salmon run in chicago.
thanks for all your help.

Glad you got it done. I did mine in the middle of the summer in extreme heat. Literaly Blood Sweat and Tears is what it took for me but now I just enjoy. It was well worth it and I enjoy the fact that I did it myself. Congrats on your install.

Maybe I'm Crazy :-* but I just don't get the concern about blowing the hull warrenty. How many hulls has Triumph had to replace? I would be interested in figuring out about where to cut out a hole in the hull close to the bow but that stays below the water line. Then bonding in a box large enough to hold a thru hull transducer. It would have a cover plate, flush with the hull made out of a material that will allow the transducer signal to pass through. I should end up with real time depth and fishing information with a trade off for a small section (4-5"?) of my hull not as tough as the rest of the hull. The hard part is going to be figuring out where the best spot to cut out my hole would be.
