Cool how to run the transducer wire

I just bought a 2005 191 fs and the boat came with out a fishfinder. i have searched this site and it seems there is a lot of talk on how to run the transducer wire on the 17 but not much on the 191. i would like to drill a hole threw the transom because i dont want to have the wire run up and over the transom. Is this a big NO NO. If anyone has any pics on how theirs is done i would appreiate it.

Also on another note the boat did not come with a stereo. where do the speakers normally go?

I ran mine through the Transom just above the water line. I filled the hole with RULE an then capped it and filled the cap also. Take a look at the photo.

Here is the response from the factory:

"Yes that is a big NO NO. The cable needs to run down the transom.

Also the speakers are cut and mounted in the starboard panel (port and starboard) that are attached to the console. The same panel that the prerig is attached to. The prerig is the control for the throttle, the starboard panel on the drivers side is the removable panel that the control is attached to. There is a matching panel on the passenger side."

Thanks. I am glad I asked before I drilled threw the transom. I wanted to run the wire threw the transom above the water line and fill it with rule for a cleaner look but I guess i will run it up and over the transom into the pan infront of the motor and then into the hull.

thanks for your pictures and quick response..

Not only did i buy the best boat but it comes with a great owners site with priceless questions and answers.

Transducer cable

I ran the transducer wire up and over the transom. I then ran the wire through a compression fitting. Have to borrow son's digital camera. I take a few photos for you.

Photos attached, I think!

If I did this correctly, attached are two photos of how I ran my transducer cable.

Well I must have goofed up then. The trim tabs had to be drilled thru also. So I have 3 holes and Im going to sink. Na, I rulled up so tight on all the holes it is tighter than Dolly's Bra! I could see that being a problem if no sealer was used but whatever. So did I void my Warranty? Now I am feeling like a real dummy. Panic Attack....PANIC PANIC ATTACK!!!!!

My 01 210cc Was A Dealer Demo And The Transom Has Multiple Holes Drilled In It And I Just Sealed Them Up With Rule And Kept On Keeping On.. I Did Run My Lenco Cables Over The Top Of The Transom Only Because I Didnt Want The Cables Cluttering The Rear Storage Boxes
