Rain water in dry storage on 191FS
I brought my new 191FS home yesterday in a driving rainstorm...the dealer was 2.5 hours away so the boat got good and wet. When the sun came out today, I got a chance to poke around and was surprised to find water standing (about 2 cups worth) in each of the dry storage compartments in the bow.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions for fixing it? With the price of gas being what it is and my dealer being so far away, if it is a simple fix, I don't mind doing it myself (rather spend the gas money in the boat!!) Thanks, Tony |

Tony,
I have a 195CC and I have the same problem if I use a high pressure hose for clean up. That rain you went through at 60 MPH probably had the same effect. You can leave out the word"DRY" when you are talking about any storage on a boat; or at least thats how I treat the storage areas. I have a couple of dry bags that I store all of my jackets, towels, etc in when I'm boating. You can pick them up in the camping area of Wal-Mart or boaters world. They are yellow and work great. Good Luck. John D. |

I think the term dry storage is a misnomer. I have the same issue. Water gets in even though it shouldn't, but I think it's not from the door. All the cup holders have drains, as does the dash. They all drain into those storage areas, not the deck or bilge. It is an unfortunate reality.

Thanks for the info guys! I've had other boats and some did worse or better than this one. Thought it was worth asking though...actually I think I really knew the answer but the gaskets on the hatches are what sent me down the primrose path!
