John,
Your main deck drains (the ones with the sink like strainers) flow out the back of the boat where the chrome plated drains with the rubber flappers are. They do not drain in the bilge. Leave the hose running in the boat and get behind the boat and see where they come out.Make sure the rubber flappers are opening. They may be stiff. Take a small knife blade or something thin and open the flappers slightly to see if the water will flow out faster. I am assuming that your boat is on a trailer. If not it may drain slower if its in the water with a little water pressure keeping the rubber flaps from opening. For safety sake you need to trace all of your drain lines, bilge lines, fuel lines, etc. Hope this helps. John D. |

Thanks for your help, John...The boat stays in the water as I'm on the water. I'm glad to hear the water drains directly out of the boat. I think the scuppers may be a bit tight and slowing the flow down as you suggested. I will check the scupper flow out now that I know what to look for...Thanks again-John

Thanks for checking with the factory for me...When I bring the boat in for the 10 hour service I will have the marina check the scuppers to make sure they are not clogged or the rubber to tight to allow a reasoable free flow-John

The rubber flaps on my 195DC are a little stiff so any trash that goes down the drain catches on the flaps. Every couple of trips out or when I notice that wash water is slow to drain I will lift the flaps and clean out the trash while water is flowing. I also unscrew the chrome drain covers and lift out the black foam ball that keeps water from backing up. I wash it off and stick my garden hose in the hole to rinse out the trash through the flaps. I wish the flaps were not so stiff. But unless I am washing down I dont get much water inside anyway. I hope this helps. Roger

OK, So I took this kid fishing. Ya know like they say on the fishing programs. My question is this.... "Where is the best place to put the hook?" |

That is what I think is happening in my case per the earlier posts...My boat is in the water all the time so I can't really check until it comes out for initial service. I did go down to the local dealer and check out a few in the showroom. Rubber sure seems tight to me as well...That's great for keeping water from coming in but could be the reason I'm standing in a puddle of water when I wash her down until is drains "slowly".
Thanks for the observation and how to handle it...Good fishing-John |
