Smile the right trolling setup for a 195CC

I am in the process of purchasing a 2007 195CC and want to set up for trolling. The dealer can install a kicker plate/bracket and I can buy a kicker motor, but I'm not sure i'll need that much hp for trolling and don't want to spend the $$ if it's overkill. The lake we fish can get pretty windy, so I don't want to be underpowered with an electric. Any other thoughts on which way to go here?

Paul,
I have a 2006 195cc with a Honda 135. We do a lot of trolling for Walleye on Lake Erie. I don't have a kicker, I use the Honda 135 for our big water trolling and can get down to about 1 1/2 MPH, measured by GPS. I just mounted a 65# thrust Minkota Power Drive up front this winter, haven't tried it out yet, but plan to use it more on inland lakes for working the shore lines. I included a pic of my trolling motor mount below.
Roger

Thanks. Does the steering work pretty well with the railing above the pulpit?

I don't think I follow you.
The bow rail does not interfere with the trolling motor operation at all. It has foot pedal controlled electric steering. The motor can be slid straight up or it can be folded back along the gunnel. Here are 2 pics stowed, and deployed.

Got it. Noobie was thinking of a manual steering set up. I just contacted the dealer and he agreed. Thanks much.
