Rough water handling
I have a 2008 191FS, with 175 ETEC. I have enjoyed the boat since purchasing in November, but really got a chance to enjoy it on Saturday. I live on coastal Georgia, and dock about 10 miles inland. I left the dock around noon and was enjoying a beautiful day of nice weather. Around 3:00, I noticed that the wind had picked up and that there were storm clouds on the horizon, and unfortunately for me, in the direction of my dock.
I headed back down the intracoastal waterway and entered the St Simons sound. The wave action picked up immediately and I was in 3-4 ft chop. The Triumph cut through it like a charm, with the hull absorbing most of the impact. Much larger glass boats around me were slowing way down as they couldn't handle the action. As I rounded the point leading out of the sound, the waves and chop picked up and I was in the roughest water I've ever encountered. I found that a good speed of 25-30 mph was better than slowing down. I became airborne no fewer than 20 times, with the prop whining like baby. Each time the hull hit the water, I came to more and more appreciate the plastic flex. In spite of the action, the bouncing, and the beating, I NEVER felt like the boat was out of control or felt unsafe. It was the most incredible experience with a boat, just knowing it could handle the worst being given me, and doing it with ease. It was a great experience and an enormous amount of fun. It wasn't for the faint of heart, but most Triumph owners are not faint of heart. Get out there and enjoy the ride!

Sounds like you had a great ride. I run in lake michigan in steep 3 or 4 footers all the time and I to have been very happy with the ride. Most out here run aluminum boats and it feels like a hammer is hitting the boat on every wave.

Sounds like fun to me!
My 195DC with 175 Etec is going to be copping some treatment like that as soon as i'm up to speed with the whole setup ... my girls scream so loud that the limit is about 2/3 of WOT so far, but we'll get there  Good stuff Waterboy.
