Has anyone made the "ski" part removable

I have a 2008 191FS. While fishing, I have thought that it would be nice if the rear seat section could be detached and removed from the boat to give better access to the livewell. My thoughts are to replace the piano hinge with some kind of "quick release" hinges.

Has anyone out there done this or seen it done? This would really help my 78 year old dad (with two replaced knees) since it is hard for him to step up or kneel down to get tho the bait.

Thanks,

Tony

I took mine out a few weeks ago being I dont ever use it. There is a lot more room without it and getting into the bait well is much easier. Sorry i cant help with any quick release ideas. For me it takes less than 5 minutes to put the seat back in or take it out ..

here are some pictures of what mine looks like with out it and with a custom table.

my weekend project
