new 191WT
Put a deposit on an '04 WT today. It has a 115 on it now, but I am going to replace that with a 150 or 175. I will also be putting a 9.9 kicker on. Can anyone advice? I fish tournaments and am interested in performance.

Thanks for the replies. The '04 WT was made for a kicker. A Merc 150 weighs 424lbs, a 9.9 Kicker weighs 99lbs. The boat is rated for 565lbs. That's CLOSE!
Have there been any issues with transom failure on these boats? My favorite motor ever was a '90 115 Yammy thats still getting it done. The past 7 years I've been running 225 Mercs. But I no longer feel the need for speed! I'll be spending a lot of time on the great lakes. Don't want to create any self inflictated problems. |

The only transome problems I have seen were on only two boats. both had been rear ended while on the trailer.
where on the great lakes do you fish. I drag around the west basin of erie several times a summer in my 210. I may try Lake Michigan for a change sometime. |

My 02 Honda 130 weighs 490+ lbs. The only issues I've had is back flow of water into the scuppers with a full load of fuel. But they could've changed the deck/scuppers in the 04 as well.
My 190 was rear ended late last summer while I was trailering out of the beach area here in CT. Luckily, the girl that hit me was only doing around 5 mph. My skeg went through the radiator ripped a nice hole in the top of her Hyundai. My aluminum prop needed replaced but, otherwise, no problems. For that reason alone, I'll never buy a SS prop. Would've hated to see that happen to a glass boat with no flex. |

This year I am fishing the east side of the PWT. The only great lake stop is at Saginaw Bay. I grew up in Ohio fishing the western basin. Incredible fishery. Thanks for the input.

The 190 hull is not designed to hold a kicker bracket, the 191 is and has a fuel pick up on the tank. I'm sure a bracket could be designed to accomadate a light weight motor on the 190, just don't tell the factory, i'm not sure how they would take it.
