Do I buy a Triumph 2004 191CC?

I was in the market for a 19 or 21' CC and found 2 2004 Triumph 191CC's at a dealer in NC. I found out later that these have been discontinued and replaced with a 2005 191WT.

Bottom line he's offering these at a "good" discount, and I'm wondering if there have been problems with the 191CC? Not popular for resale? and what if anyone knows would be a good price for these boats. One is selling for $18K with a 90HP 4 Stroke the other with a T-Top and 115HP 4 stroke for $22,7K.

Any insight anyone has would be great

You may be able to find a 210 CC for $23K. Also, check with Dick at Merrit Marine just to ensure he can't beat your deal.

Remember that the 190 is a bay boat, so the 210 will have much more freeboard. Where do you plan to boat, does freeboard matter?

191CC? Do you mean 190CC? I'm not aware of Triumph discontinuing the 190CC, 191WT or the 191FS. Maybe someone else here knows what you are referring to.

I have a 2002 190CC and believe that the 90HP motor would be a little light on power. My rig has a 130 and most come with a 115. There are slight differences between the 190 and 191 models in beam and deadrise and the 191's weigh about 200lbs more than the 190 - both are the same in length.

Boats, in general, take a huge haircut in resale value. Triumphs are unique in construction and price. So they can be had for even less once used. But you're also getting it more cheaply new. The extra cash can be spent on electronics

Just recently bought a 2005 191FS with 130 honda. I paid around 23K. Dealer had 190s with 115 and T-Top for around 20K to 21K depending on other options. Hope that helps..

Fortreid:

In reading you post about an NC dealer having 2 04 191's at a good price would you mind telling me who the dealer is? I priced a 05 191 FS/LE today and was quoted $24687.72 with the swim platform and Bimini top with a CD sterio player. I mentioned if that came with a cover and they said if I wanted a cover they would give me one at no charge.

Thanks! Romie I.E. "Rochlo2"

Yep, got that free cover after a month too! Plastic boats are cheap (not too bad with lifetime warranties) but the motors are as expensive as the hull. You can get a good custom T-Top for @2 grand, what kind of trailer are you getting? A leaning post with rocket launchers is @ 1 grand. Good GPS/finder is $800-1,200. These boats/hulls need to remain inexpensive.....or why buy them vs. other options. Simple to work on, modify and improve/repair. Can only suggest the Bay 190 or 210, there are reasons why they are not making some others anymore.....think long and hard about that. But, once you go plastic.... it will be hard to go back! Deal very aggressively with non center console Triumphs and don't under power...you need 115/140/150hp, the more the better. My 2 cents.
