191FS windshield problem

Has anyone had problems with their walk-thru windshield on the 191's?
In some light chop this weekend, the non-hinged side on the middle section dropped in past the stationary section. Managed to get it free, but noticed that the gap between the stationary side and the center section has increased to the point where the lock tabs can no longer keep the window secured when closed. The boat is only 2 months old and this was a tight fit when new. I searched for a way to make an adjustment to reduce the gap, but could not see a way to make that happen. Does anyone have a fix?

definately a dealer warranty issue. i would not attempt to do anything but get it back to the dealer. imo they should not spread like that.

Question

IL-LOGIC, thanks for the reply. I have contacted my dealer, but since the dealer is about about a 1 1/2 hour drive, thinking I may wait till 20 hr engine service is due to get a fix. Are there any other 191FS owners here who have not had any problems with their windshields? Trying to find out if this is a generic problem, or boat specific.

Thanks!

I own a 2004 191FS and have had the centre hinged windshield section "fall through" the fixed side sections only once (happen when I hit a huge bow wake at speed). Otherwise, I get some minor spread depending on the ambient temperature but nothing too serious. Hope Triumph does right by you.....Tabasakwa

Windshield problem.

I have a '05 191 F/S and have noticed the window latches barely catch. I could see that the center section could fall through if conditions were right. I may contact the dealerif it looks like it might become a problem.

Thanks for the reply Trawles. That is the exact condition I have encountered. I do not remember the window catches being so marginal when I picked up the boat. Wonder if Triumph has a fix? Mine has fallen through in some light chop. Trying to avoid a warranty claim for a broken windshield!

No such problems with my 2005. In fact, mine is a little tight and have been giving it a pounding on the potomac.

Thumbs up Window fix!?

I was able to move each windshield assembly about 1/8" each closer to each other and solved my problem. You can't even see the old holes. It only took about 1/2 hour. If you think this may solve your problem, just remove the black weatherstrip in the lower channel at the base and the screws are exposed. The two screws in the back were a wood screw type and the screws on the front side were machine screws with washers and nuts. Just make sure there is room for expansion/contraction and vibration. This was an easy job.

Hey Glory,
Any word on that engine thing? I had my 2005 191FS out in the bay this weekend pulling the kids on a tube. Same issue...no matter how low I set the trim on curves, the engine would almost seem to kick into neutral with no bite at all. I had to back down on the throttle and then reapply throttle to get it to come back. Would be interested in hearing what your dealer says.

THX
