Question '04 191 F/s

I am having problems fishing a line to install a depth finder on my unit. I have called the dealer and followed his instrustions on running the line from the rear to the front but it did not work. Has anyone else had this problem?

Pull string?

I have an '05 F/S. It had a pull string that ran from the battery box to the steering console. Not sure if yours has one. If so, make sure you pull in another during the pull for future use.

Pull String

I appreciate the tip. I have not located a string yet but I am planning to work on it again this week end. It really should not be as difficult as it appears.
I moved to another state and we do not have a dealer close or I would take it in to have it wired up.

Wire Run

Here is a suggestion. My 170 CC had a piece of PVC from the rear to the CC, but no pull cord. I did not have a fish tape, but I did have a piece of coax cable. I cut the connector off and attached my wires to that an it was stiif enough to push and flexible enough to follow.

Talking Fishing wire from back to console

I have a 2002 190 CC. I had the dealer install a fishfinder, but I later got a stereo system and needed to run the speaker wires from the console to the battery compartment in the rear. After several attempts of trying to fish and electrical fishing wire from the console opening , under the deck to the rear of the boat I became extremely agitated because I kept hanging up. After a fit of agitation I grabbed a 1/2 in, 10 foot piece of the Grey pvc pipe I had laying around. This was extremely flexible and I was actually able to run it down the hole located inside the console and have it exit in a location under the starboard rear seat. I was then able to fish wire from the console, through the pvc pipe. Once I had enough wire fished, I simply secure the wire at the rear of the boat and the pulled the pvc pipe out at the console.

What I had spent 1 hour trying to accomplished I was able to do in 10 minutes.

Good Luck!
