Thinking about a 191 W/T

So I have found a good deal on a Left over 2004 191 W/T but I have some questions.

1. How is the ride in slop? I am saltwater guy. 2'-4' are pretty common. Although if I make the drive from the East Coast of FL to the West Coast I can get much flatter water.
2. The one I am looking at has a Suzuki 115 4-stoke. Will this be enough to pull up a skier? I am no little guy - 200lbs.
3. How hard would it be and has anybody put in the ski pilon from the F and S on the walkthrough?
4. I have found that the fit on some of the lids etc. on these boats tends to move around as they sit in the sun etc. Has this been an issue for anybody?
5. How hard is it to repair hull damage if you get any?

I have a 190, not the 191 but I'll throw in my $.02 anyway...

In 2-4' seas, you'll be getting wet in boats much larger than the 191. But my guess would be that the 191 will outperform many boats in its class due to the deeper V on the 191 and flex that comes with these Roplene hulls (a benefit). We had 3-5' seas this past Saturday morning in SW CT and I was out in it for 4 hours. Max speed between 17 and 23 mph with following seas - 10 mph into the nasty stuff.

Hull repairs should be rare - Roplene has 5X the impact resistance of fiberglass. The deck panels and doors have not been a problem for me - at all!

Others here can add more and maybe say something about the ski-options (I'm no skier). The 115 should be fine - but I thought that the 191 can handle up to 175hp? I've got a really heavy Honda 130 and most others have the 115 by Merc, Johnson, Zuki, etc. Some, however, were rigged with Zuki 140's and I know of one Honda 150 on a 190.

Have fun!

Yes it can handle up to a 175 hp that is why I was asking about the 115. I can get a very good deal on a left over but it has the 115 on it. So a good deal is only good if it will work for my needs.

B,

Hey there, my name is Sami and I work for Boathouse in Riviera Beach, FL. We are partners with the Ft. Pierce Modern Discount Marine that has some great deals on some leftover 19's. Let me know if you are interested and we'll answer any questions that we can!

Thanks,
Sam

triumph introduced the center console version of the 191 at the Mackfest this past july and the boys did fine offshore in it. i personally feel that the 115 is gonna be running at the upper end of its rpms to handle you than say a 150 hpdi or e-tec 2 stroke. 4 strokes esp. a 115 are gonna be bad on the hole shot and if you plan to do as much skiing as fishing i would pass on the 115----fishing only it would be fine
if i could have a do-over it would be the biggest e-tec evinrude the boat could handle --better mpgs and cleaner than current 4 strokes.

just my 2 cents

Take it out on a sea trial and see how the 115 does. I suspect that it will be fine. Yes, a 150 may be better, but the savings on the rig that you're looking at may be worth the trade-off as it is a leftover. Test it and see!

Separately, this whole thing about the Etech running cleaner is interesting, but not relevant. No one is complaining about the emissions on 4S motors and running over to buy high-pressure 2S motors. Etech's are Rude's answer to the new emissions laws as they are not building 4S motors. Also, you will have to concern yourself with 2S oil, oil tanks, etc... whatever. Plus the resale to a first-time boat buyer is better on a 4S than any 2S motor.
