Who has side curtains and do you like them?

Of course now that's winter has hit the Mid Atlantic area :x , I am doing a few boat projects with my 04 210. I am thinking about a set of curtains for under the T-Top so I don't freeze this spring chasing Trophy Stripers in the Chesapeake Bay. Now the questions. Where did you get them? What type, how much, etc...??? I understand that most are open in the back but I wonder if a closed back would be nice for those days when the wind is from the stern. Thanks for any and all input.

Side Curtains

Hey BigGrin,

I have an '04 210 also. I had a local upholstery shop make the front and side curtains for me. Cost was $600. I did not enclose the back area. I had such a setup on another CC boat and had a problem with the windows fogging up on cold damp days. I have used the full side curtain set up only a couple of times. It really works well when the wind is blowing and the spray comes over the side. I think it is a wise investment for foul weather trips. Mine looks identical to the factory side curtains except we used snaps in place of the zippers. There are 5 panels, one for the front, two forward side and two rear side panels. We normally run with the rear side ones rolled and stowed under the t-top with snap straps. The rear side panels run to the floor also and attach at the floor with a strap to hoop fastener at the rear of the live well seat base.

Hope this helps you.

Birgrin,
I have the factory installed curtains and like them very much. They come in three pieces and are easy to put on and take off. I had them on my previous boat so knew I wanted them for those cold spring and fall days on the chesapeake bay. What areas do you fish in? I fish around the middle grounds and smith point. Maybe we can catch you out there sometime. Rivercat

Thanks all for the input, Rivercat I fish all over but mostly fish the middle bay area. Honga River, Eastern Bay, Solomons area. I did just finish a trip down to the CBBT (Bay Bridge Tunnel area). We tore em up. I'll be back there next year. Let's get together this spring. BigGrin

OK folks, another curtain question. Is it a problem to leave the curtains on (rolled up) when towing? Also, can you open the front windshield area only and still have the rest of the curtains down? Getting ready to order the factory curtains. BigGrin

I leave my factory side curtains rolled up in transport all the time. Because it is a pain to try and feed them thru the inserts when it is cold out, at least mine are.
And side curtains will also decrease somewhat in size ( the plastic) in cold weather. Not a whole lot, just enough that It might make it difficult or real tight to snap in place in certain areas, for me the connections on the bait tank were tight. (I had extensions made to make that task alot easier.. see my gallery)

Now, Im not sure about the rest of the owners with factory side curtains, but I had to have access zippers installed on mine as well. Because when I was all buckled in the only way I could get in and out of the cockpit was to crawl over my leaning post which I thought was joke.

So with all of that to the side "I Love Them!" especially when I gotta do some running in the nasty stuff.

My 2 cents

I just got a set for Christmas. I got mine from Merritt Marine. Cost was about $685 for the front and sides. I installed them myself. It took about 4 hours over New Years. If anyonr is interested, I'll be glad to post pictures.
