charters?

Hi, Just wanted to see if anyone out there is using a 210 cc for charters or guiding. Any dislikes of boat? I'm contemplating buying a used one as it is probably one of the safest boats on the market, according to what I've read, still need to try one out. Being unsinkable would make it good for my clients and myself as I fish in rough water, most of the time. Appreciate any input.......

I like to just add a comment. I thought about using my 210 as a charter for diving. Since here where I live is rich in dive spots. All within 2 miles off the coast. I know the boat is set up just right for it. with a max of 4 divers. Average 2 tank dive here is 60 - 80 dollars. you can see how it could be worth the venture.

Check with LittleCasino. He's been in the charter business for a while on his 210. I personally would think that the Roplene hull would be best for this type of use. I know a charter captain here in CT that spends much of his off time cleaning skuff marks and coffee spills off his glass deck. People are always dropping lead, loosing their balance and spilling drinks on the deck - not used to being on a boat.

Thanks Cinci,

Molokaipake, I'm in my 3rd year as a 210 owner, and I can honestly say that, 'I'm now', a Triumph owner for LIFE!

I spent an entire year researching boats for my charter operation, and you will not find a safer rig for your clients. (and thats what you want for your guest) Not only is it unsinkable, it exceeds US Coast Guard safety requirements as well, "Its' The Worlds Toughest Boat!", and thats one great adverising tool!
I could actually write a book on the circumstances, and situations where this boat has prevailed and performed beyond my expectations in the last few years.

It's like a stunt boat!

Nobody even knows its plastic, till you tell them

I have some friends that own Boston Whaler, Scout, Key West and they are beautiful boats, but when it comes to trailering, shallow water, wieght, soft/smooth ride, rough water, maintainence, and the paranoia of dents and dings, beacuase their boats are fiberglass, 'I flat blow them out of the water!'

Now, I'm not sure what kind of rough water your talking about, but
I have had to face 5-6 footers on Lake Michigan, and back in early November, we was fishing the Ohio river which had 3-4 footers with wind gust up to 20-25 knots.
There was two other boats with us, a 20' Lund, and a 19' Ranger bass boat. We had a twenty plus mile run up the river, and I actually left these two other boats at the ramp.
The guys in the Lund showed up after we already anchored, and had lines down. They were soaked to the bone, and they took a beating from the impact of the waves. The guys in the Ranger aborted the run, because all they could do was run slow or run idle speed, and decided to fish closer to the launch site, as it was too much for them, and a safety factor as well.

My passengers that day were really impressed with how the boat handled and cut the waves. They were really 'amazed how smooth it ran under the conditions, and how the boat absorbed the impact of the larger waves we encountered, and this is just ONE of many story's.

On the dislikes, The only negative thing I can say about my 210 are some plumbing issue's. There was, and still is some water getting in some of my floor storage, and I'm just now(this winter) going to make the modifications to correct the problem. It hasn't been that big of a concern for me (it's a fishing boat)and besides the plumbing modifications are available, fairly easy, and inexpensive. it is more of a time issue for us, and thats about it for dislikes.

Mark,
Love the video on your web page! Triumph should have it POSTED on their site for some "real world" advertisement for sure...

When you get too cold, just grab K9Reno (he needs to thaw out also) and drag your 210 down for you are all rigged up for some serious "Grouper Digging" and King Mack work with all that Striper equipment you have aboard. I can see that you have spent more than a few hours digging though the "Offshore Angler" catalog

Next thing I see pictured in your future buddy is the use of Chum Bags and Hydra Glow lights http://hydroglowlights.homestead.com/index.html

Grouper Digging in the Hoosier State, who would have guessed...That is just too much! Too bad you can't fool those puppies into breeding in those lakes for they would get as big as Tarpon with as fast as they appear to grow.

Tight Lines!
Dave

Wink

Putershark,
Love the new avatar! K9 Reno is in Florida right now. I do believe he left the Weds before X-mas.

I have used chumbags, and I actually own a hydro lite. We use the Hydro when we are attracting bait, and when fishing crappies at night.

If you have any tips or tricks I can incorporate with the lite and chummy bags let me know.

BTW.. A few hours looking at a Offshore catalog is an understatement

Now, Whats this grouper digging thing all about?

Thanks Rob and Dave, I'm Glad you two like the video. A couple of college kid's did it, we didn't have any control over it ourselves.
We are producing a new striper video where we have full control of production, and its going to rock!

Rob, I really do need to master some mojo rigging fer sure, and thanks so much for the invite. You don't know how bad I would love to get to the east coast and fish with some of you guys.

Dave, We will probably have to burn up some cell minutes, because I cant type, write or spell worth a _ _ _ _! even after spending five years in the 6th grade.

maybe,possibly this week.... sound groovy?
