Platform for front of 210CC

I was at the Fishing Expo in Raleigh this past weekend. George, from Triumph, was there and I had a long conversation with him about the boats. Anyway, my girlfriend made a comment about the smaller boats having a platform to layout on in the front (I know...please no comments from the peanut gallery..LOL!) George said there was a way to retrofit one of the platforms to the front of a 210. He said it wasn't something you would want to take in and out 10-12 times a day but that there is something that would go up there. I might have misunderstood him but I thought he said the guys at Merritt might know what I am talking about. Dick, do you know what he is talking about?

Never heard that one and I used to work there. I assume you're talking about a sunning platform, right?

Let me know what you find out for if it is not easy to get, I can post the pictures (if I can find them on my PC) of the one that I made for our old 210 that worked pretty well. It was made of wood, had carpet on it, and was held in place (real easy to remove also) with a front bass style seat and pedstal. The front seat was held in place by having a 170 CC front seat post mount modifed and mounted to the present 210 front storage deck. Worked quite, did not move when crashing through the waves and after removal of the front bow rail, made for a real nice front casting area. I cooked up the idea after looking over a Scout CC at a boat show and if Triumph was smart, they would modify the present 215 mold to have a real forward casting deck

Todd - Yes, I am talking about a sunning platform. I think George said it was from another Triumph boat but that it would fit in the 210. He said it would be removeable.

Dave - Thanks for your post. I will let you know if I can't find it or if it is going to be cost prohibitive. I also thought about trying to build a wood platform but figured it would be fairly heavy.

No not really,
If I recall I used a single sheet of 3/4 (maybe 5/8 it's been a while) marine plywood and cut it to fit into (over) the present small one. Since it was supported by such it only need a few short 2x4 legs to support the other open end. Worked nice and even added some extra space to pitch stuff under. Since it was not mounted per say, you could still lift it up to get into the small forward storage compartment or just take it out if you like.

Once installed, I rarely took it out since it added so much to the boat and if I did, it was to take the boat to the shop or if it was going to be setting for a while (before I had the cover) to keep from getting all wet from the rain. I have a sick little girl home with me today (man is it quiet here) and I will see if I can find those pictures and post them for you

I found the pictures and some are now posted in the 210 mod section. Drop me a line if you have any construction questions

Hope this helps?
