215 T-Top Strength
I just purchased a 2006, 215 that should be here in about 2 weeks. I was talking to a dealer that was trying to sell me a 05 and he claimed that he uses the T-top on his 2005 to tow wakeboarders. The T-tops on the 2006 are quite a bit stronger, so I am curious if that is actually possible or if he was just blowing smoke. If not, I will probably just use a bridle and tow from the rear hooks. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Bob |

Congratulations on the new boat! I would not be comfortable towing off the t-top, but that is just me. I always tow the kids off the rear cleat on the back of the boat.

I would stay away from using the t-top for towing. The rear left foot plate on my top has a broken weld from banging around in the ocean. I have to remove my t top to have it welded. It is not a fun job. These tops are not designed for that kind of stress. The new tops are made of heavier metal and should be stronger, but still not a good idea for towing anything.
