tackle storage

where do you store your tackle on board. I have been storing plano boxes in the cooler on the mega storage, but looking for other options. :?: :?:

All over

I store plano boxes & Lure bags in the box under the the front bow seat. I use the Port/front fish box to store some of the larger items & plano boxes. I use the Port rear seat to store a soft tackle box( that has plano boxes) & rolled lure bags. I also have some tackle in the Tbag storage.

If you have a TTop a electronics box works good to store plano boxes & lure bags.

Tackle Storage

I only use soft sides. I put 2 plano soft side and at least 1 rolled trolling lure bag on the front seat, secured with bunge cords to the rail support.

When trolling natural baits I have my trolling bag on the aft port corner. I use a cutting board on the aft starboard corner. I don't use the mega hatch at all. I do put cast nets, landing nets & short rods in the foward fish boxes when running. I also have 4 rod holders mounted on the bait well and one on the back of the drivers seat (chose the pedestal seats over the leaning post much to my current chagrin).

tackle

I guess I am not the only one to wonder about tackle stowage. In every boat I have researched there is a decided lack of stowage for tackle. Meaning, good volume at a height I won't need a chiropracter on Monday. Incredible really. they put cup holders all over some boats, padding for the weak of muscle, shade, and a freakin porta potti in many FISH boats. But hardly any tackle stowage. So we have to drag our boxs and soft bags, and lift and replace them from stop to stop. Look at all the 'air' in center consoles, what a waste. Anyone out there pull the pad off the front and build a 'cassette' system? Take em in to the garage for cleaning and re-stocking, pop em in for fishing?

Storage

I use a standard milk crate size plastic box, and it hold 6 hard plano type box's very neatly, with an additional one across the top of it. I keep this in the aft port corner storage compartment with a soft trolling lure bag on top of it. I was amazed how much gear I could store in this manner. I keep one other soft side bag out, and the rest is easy to get to in the rear compartment.

I took an extra fish box lid and cut out a toe hold/ storage box holder that can be seen

in the photo below.. it also allows a storage place when i have the rear floor panel off while working in the bilge

and no i didnt have a hog killing in the boat ,but rather a poorly placed gaff in a bull dolphin
