codfish. I too am going to do the fish box drain, what size drill did you use, and and where do I order the parts. How far is the bottom of the box to the outside of the hull? I live in Idaho, so have to do everything myself. jim white [rabbitfork]

Hi there Rabbitfork,
I bought my plugs from a local sporting goods store called G.I Joes's. You can also get them from most full service boat stores or marina, or order them through Boaters World, West Marine etc. If I remember correctly, I used a 1" paddle bit for wood boring. The flange on the plug fit that hole just perfect. Some brands may be slightly larger or smaller. The thickness of the hull shold be right at 1". This is a location where the inner and outer hull layers come together at a "kiss off point". There should be little if any foam material in this location. I had about a 1/16' layer of foam at my holes. Where is home in Idaho. I go to the Payette and New Meadows areas several times a year. What beautiful country. Good luck with the mod. Codfish |

Fella, Those are two photos of the same drain. I tried to show some more close up detail with the second shot. To make sense of the three photos posted in this thread, the clam shell cover is mounted directly below the brass drain plugs you see inside the box. If you look closely at the inside photos you can see the fingers of the strainer cover below.
