Question Is it worth it

We are thingking about buying a 215cc with a 150 suzuki. Most of our fishing will be done on the west coast off of eureka and maybe some in trinidad. Does anyone have a kicker on their 210 or 215?

I'm waiting for my 215 but I've ordered the Suzuki 175. Why are you going with the 150? The 150 and 175 are the same size engine, both cubic inches and weight. I figure If you're going to haul 465 pounds of metal on the back of the boat it might as well have the maximum performance for the cubic inches. If not going with the 175 why not drop down to the 140, smaller and lighter.

MarkGW,

Yes some do have kickers mounted on their 210. I for one do. I use a Honda 7.5 for my kicker. I have some pics in my gallery to show the install and final look of mounted engine. The system I used allows easy removal of the bracket and motor for days I do not need the kicker. I use it mostly for salmon trolling.

How much more expensive is the suzuki 175 compared to the 150. It seems like the 150 would be just as good as the 175. Is there really any differences in the performance with the 150 and 175.

Mark, look at the post titled DF150 or DF175 by Zachery on the 210/215 forum. The two engines are being discussed by boat owners.
