Fish box top not fitting tight

I bought a new 06 215 about two weeks ago and noticed that the front fish boxs do not have a good fit to the top floor top, sets up about a half in. to the bow side.
Marina said this is not uncomon?
Anyone else seen this?
Otherwise I like the boat.

Are your tops loose or just not sitting flush with the deck? On my 210 mine were loose and I was able to adjust the latch to pull them down tighter. Mine are also a little off flush. the lids on one of the boxes seem to be a little higher than the deck but no where near 1/2 inch. That may also change a bit with temp changes as they are all plastic

No the tops do not have a margin all the way around them, the tops need to be manufactured a bit smaller in diameter. I had someone tell me that they can be filed down.
It is just too tight fit!! But this is the first thing that is brought up when I am showing off my 32000.00 boat to a friend............

I am sure if you have a decent router and know how to use it you can trim them easily. OR since it is a new boat see if the dealer will make the fit right.

glad to see the quality control is on top of things. I would demand your dealer to make it right or give you the $$ to do it.
