anchor locker crack

I have a crack in the bottom of my anchor locker. Where will the water go that I normally had to sponge out. would it drain to the bilge or stay in the hull.

Head Fixr,

If you open the inspection plate on the rear wall of your anchor locker you will see that any water leaking out of your locker will drain into the inner hull space between the outer and inner roplene layers. If you do not have an inner hull drainat the transom, the water will accumulate and cause a weight problem over time.

I would suggest you fix the leak and add the inner hull drain to get rid of any water already retained there. Remember that the inner hull drain install is at your own peril as far as the hull warranty goes. I did mine and I get a few drops of water after a nasty day on the ocean. Better than having stinky old mold forming inside the hull.

When I first inspected my anchor locker, I found that the walls are only half as thick as the hull layers. Possibly why yours cracked if you have the anchor stored inside . A second false floor may be neccessay to support that kind of weight.

I had a crack there as well, I made the dealer fix under warrenty of the hull. The bad part was, the dealer stated, well it was your anchor that caused it....DUH I said, you need to invent a holder of the anchor like sea pro boats and others have. He was such a .....well you know. BUT I got hiom to fix it.
