210 Drain Plug

All this warm weather the last few weeks gave me a fine chance to clean the rig up really good. I got it clean, and then purchased a tarp to cover it up. I got probably 98% of the water out of it with the bilge pump, but I wanted to take the drain plug out. PROBLEM: It's stuck! Has anyone else had problems taking their's out? I checked for any growth underneath on the hull, and it was fine. Man, that is a tight spot to work in, esp. with the livewell pump right there. Any suggestions?

P.S. Some of my drain lines in the console and rear fish boxes were clogged with debris. I used a spool of 12 ga. wire to ream them out, and it worked great. Just thought I'd pass that along for anyone that had clogged lines.

I've always had to use a pair of pliers to loosen my plug. That brass plug is tight and not capable of being loosened by hand, as well it should be.

What kind of pliers did you use that A-fit the plug, and B-fit in that tight of space?

thanks,

My 2004 210 came with a brass t-handled plug which is easy to remove and install. I take it out EVERY time I come in, not just to drain any water in the boat but to keep rain from accumulating. Some teflon pipe dope should keep yours from getting stuck. The t-handled plugs should be available in any boat store.

I also have the brass T plug I keep it hand tight so I can pull it without tools conveniance mostly but as a safty issue you can drain your bilge by pulling the plug while on plane just be **** shure to put it in BEFORE you drop off plane Ill pull mine just to check the ammount of water in the bilge because it drains way more out than the pump I still get a small amount of water flowing thru since the hull crack was fixed maybe my bait tank???

CONSOLE DRAINS CLOGGED

ON MY '01 THE DRAIN TUBE IS ON THE PORT SIDE OF THE CONSOLE AND WOULD ALWAYS WET MY FEET IF IT EVER DRAINED AT ALL. MINE WAS PLUMBED SO POORLY I REDID THE WHOLE CONSOLE AND MADE THE DRAIN EXIT ON THE RIGHT SIDE LIKE ON THE NEW MODELS. THERE IS MORE SLOPE AND IT CONNECTS WITH THE TUBE COMING DOWN FROM THE TOP OF THE CONSOLE BETTER.
AS FOR THE BILGE DRAIN PLUG, I REPLACED THE ROUND ACCESS PLATE WITH A RECTANGULAR REAR HATCH FROM THE 190CC AS LOGIC DAVE DID ON THE OLD BOARD JUST TO GAIN MORE ROOM . I HAVE AN 80 GALLON TANK AND IT WAS SO CROWDED I HAD TO PUT A 45 ELBOW ON THE LIVEWELL PUMP JUST TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE PLUG LET ALONE TAKE IT OUT. THE BILGE HOSE IS IN THE WAY BUT CAN GET TO THE PLUG EASIER WITH THE LARGER HATCH

Mower,
As others have posted earlier, access to my T-plug is through the access hatch located directly ahead of the rear splashwells wall in the center of the rear deck. Access hatch is maybe 6"x6" providing easy access to reach down and grab it with a standard set of pliers or vise grips.
