Bow Dodger
We had a custom bow dodger made this year and the problem is, it seems to be to short. We tryed using it but were fustrated by its hard set up and that you can't use the front bow seat or the cooler seat. The only why you can sit under it is if you sit on the floor. How are the factory dodgers? Can you sit in the seats with out problems?

I have a 2003 version from the factory. It works pretty well and looks cool, too. In the bow seat, you can't sit totally straight up, but nonetheless you can still sit comfortably - have sat through a rain storm there with 2 buddies and it was pretty comfortable.
However, if you're on the cooler seat, you're getting wet. The dodger doesn't protect those people - except while you're running the boat on plane. The dodger goes up and down pretty easily. However, I have gotten some small stress tears at the rear corners, but I'm pretty sure it's just from failing to put the dodger down everytime I tow. I used to tow with it up at 70 mph (and just leave the front window on it rolled up), but since then have learned my lesson and put it down each time I plan on going over 55mph. (p.s.. I've also lost a side curtain that way) My dodger is black because that's all that was available. I thought it might attract too much heat, but the color doesn't seem to be a factor because of all the wind on the water. I'm now glad that it's black. |
