Need Help - Bow Nav Lights

I ran new wires for sonar and speed/temp sensor under the floor to the console of 2003 Triumph 210. When finished the bow lights have no power to them. Checked the wire from the switch as far as I could. Must have broken a wire during the snake job on the new sonar/gps wiring. I took up the floor aft of the livewell. No clue there! Looked at wire race to nav lights which runs on starboard side of boat. Where does that go? I'm giving up until I get some direction.....Hope you can help.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....
Thanks,
Dave

Bow Light???

[b]I had a similiar problem with my stern (anchor/running) light. Just happened, not from activity of my own. First I broke the wire at the stern light connnection and ran a straight wire to make sure the light worked. Checked to make sure the switch had current. Then ran continuity with meter to find break between switch on console and light. Found the break at the harness jack between the boat and center console. Ended up wiring around this connection at the jack. On boats you must run a ground as well to check circuits. Very elementary but some folks with automotive experience are accustom to using the metal car frame/body as the common ground.

For your problem, I would follow a similiar approach to find the problem and then if necessary, replace the wire in the area of the break. A meter that will check continuity can be purchased from many locations at $15.00 to $50.00. The less expenssive is digital and works on AC, DC and will check automotive 10 amp. circuits. I will follow your posting to see how it develops. Good luck.

Thanks Jim But......

Thanks for the info but I did check at the lights and no power to them. The problem is that I traced the wire from the switch to where it disappears through the hole under the console. Power to that point. Took up the floor behind the live well and there is no access to the wire there. There is a wire race from the lights that can be accessed in the anchor locker. I can not determine where it goes from there. I need someone to tell me how to access the wire from the hole under the console to where ever the wire race leads. A mystery!
Thanks,
Dave

Flychukar, I can't answer your question exactly but may be able to shed some light. I needed to run a set of #6 wires to the bow for my bowspirit mounted trolling motor. I opened the anchor rode access hatch and shoved the pair into the tube on the starboard side and kept shoving until I knew I had shoved over 15 feet of wire down the tube. I then reached through the rubber sleeved access in the floor of the center console where all the wires come through and felt around and wham! found my trolling wires! I pulled them through the hole and wired the system up! What I thought would be an all day job took 5 minutes.

From my experience, I think if you get a conduit wire puller and stick it into the wire chase at the bow and shove about 15 to 18 feet down the chase you'll find the wire puller under the floor of the center console as I did. Anyway, I hope so.

Good luck.
