Congratulations on your new boat.

Suggest you click on the “Articles” tab at the top of the page as a starter and see if there is any look interesting. Start reading what others have done to their boats in the various forums. There is a lot to read on this web site and owners that will try to help with any question you have.

Pictures of your new ride in the “Photo Gallery” are always good.

Me too! Mine arrives in two weeks (maybe). I am getting the 150HP ETEC, SS Prop, Leaning Post, WashDown and Dive ladder.

Still shopping for electronics - want as big as I can afford so I can read from the transom. May get the Raymarine A65 and an Icom 302 VHF.

I will read the articles as you were advised. Any insights so far? Still debating trim tabsl - I can always add on later.

Thanks

bigger electronic screen isn't always better, make sure it fits into console, which in my 210 the large screens will not, maybe 215 is different. I have a friend with a 25' Bluefin and he bought a large screen Raymarine setup, which is real nice, but the size is a bit of an issue. had a hard time getting installed and now he isn't so sure it was the right move.

something to think about.......

Excellent point Fishahn. Osprey Vic wanted the larger displays and did a very nice job of installing them on his 215 highlighted in his article on mods done to their boat:
Additions & Modifications to our 2005 Triumph 210

But he had to remove the console cover in order to do it. I wanted as large a display as I could get on my new 215 without removing the console and I did not want to add an electronics box on the t-top. So I went with the Furuno 1724C Radar/GPS unit and had Merritt Marine mount all the electronics on a removable piece of Starboard. I can lock the console with the electronics in it or I can disconnect them and remove for security or storage. I modified the setup that Merritt did for me seen here:
First look at my new 215 Chaos tomorrow!

I cut another piece of starboard then mounted the Furuno 1724C, VHF, Autopilot and a new Furuno FCV620 color fishfinder in it. I moved the CD/Radio back to its original position in the back of the console so it is always mounted. With the space created by removing the Radio from the electronics mount in the photos, I cut out a "reach in" space so I can control the CD/Radio, insert/eject CD's, etc all while the electronics mount is in place. I'll try to take some new photos and post soon. It really worked out well. I've got a pretty large color display that I can lock in the console or easily remove for storage and the electronics don't bounce around like they would if mounted in the console with base mounts.

Here is a photo of the new starboard cut out for electronics. The open space in the middle is the reach in for operating the CD/Radio or putting stuff in the console behind the electronics. I'll try to get a picture mounted in the boat in the next few days.

A65

The Raymarine A65 fits great! 1/2" to spare and console still locks.
6.5" digital screen is daylight readable. I got the FishFinder upgrade and the Navonics Gold level maps. ICOM 302 flushmounts and saves lots of valuable console space.

One bad bit of design by Triumph - the nav light pole runs right next to the SS grab rail - only a matter of time till a guest graps the pole and pulls it out.
