Unhappy My new 215 has to go back to factory!

I wrote a couple of months ago about my fish box tops not fitting proper, well now I have noticed that the floor in the mega storage/head is bulging up so that the removable floor is rocking BIG time, and the front panel at the bow storage is bulging out a inch and one half now and getting worse............Dealer would not belive me till I returned it and they saw, they agreed that I have or Triumph has a problem here!
So factory rep. is telling me it must go back to the factory in Durham, N C.
They are telling me that they think it is a heat thing!!! I researched boats for a couple of mos. before I decided on this one and I spoke to a factory rep. at a boat show in Hampton, Va. who assured me that heat is not an issue unless it gets to around 200 deg.
and that this boat was tested and bullet proof.
The customer rep. was quite willing to come after the boat and do the repairs necessary, (by the way, this is the reason the fish box tops are not fitting right) I just want the repairs to be right and just not a patch that will cause me to have to loose my boat to another trip to Durham....I just dont see how they can repair this material, its all one cast ya know, and the plastic form to me would have some memory?

So it is not a performance thing so Im gonna wait to send it away this winter, BUT STILL, I have a sticker on the back of my 215 that says QC approved! I just wish I had caught it before I signed the papers.

Windowguy, Got any pictures? It seems very strange that bulging would take place under the storage area and especially that it would be heat related. I can't imagine it getting hot enough anywhere on the boat to cause a problem like that, but it should especially be cooler under there. I had my 215 out in near 100 degree weather last week and the deck was hot to the touch but no problems that I've seen.

Sounds like the dealer and Triumph are standing behind it, but I know it is frustrating to have issues with a new boat, not to mention the hassle of transporting it. Keep us posted on what you find out.

Dealer has pics. and has sent them to Triumph.

Factory says it could be foam swelling inside hull from heat......now I would like to know how they get it out (the foam) and reshape the hull, since they say they can fix this boat.

My 210 storage boxes get a bit tight in the heat, the rear boxes by the motor is the worst area. But nothing that I can not live with. AND my mega hatch is also bulged in the center, so as the removable floor thingy would not be so great. Personnally, if I was to ask about the warrenty...I would hate to have to have it sent back to the east coast for repairs. I have chosen to live with my defects.

Mine are looking you in the face. One is just below the bow cushion inch and a half bulge, other is two fish box tops that set up a ahlf inch for your toes to hang.

the boat memory is there at time of molding. looks like someone overdid the foaming to me .they do a 2 part foam that gets hot upon curing---that is why the indent runs down the sidesto help the boat maint ain its shape as it heats up i would think once the extra foam is removed, the boat should return to the molded shape --they will fix it or make it right i feel sure that they will make it right for you.
