Seat Repair
Genelie - I had this exact problem with my 03 210. The release pin to allow the seat to swivel was frozen in place - I tried to twist and ended up shearing the aluminum housing around the pin. For one seat I was able to use a nail punch and pushed the pin into the inside of the post. For the other I tried a screw out to unthread the pin housing. But I couldn't salvage the basic seat pan mechanism on either, and ended up ordering two new seat mechanisms from Dick at Merritt. He sells just the swivel pin assembly too, and that would be obviously be the way to go. I think it was about $100 each in my case.
I am now paying a lot more attention to keeping the friciton adjust and pin mechanism lubricated. Dick said to use vaseline. Good luck......Barry |

I had the same prob with the seats on my 03 210. I ended up trying to unscrew the housing for the pin but broke them off to get the pins out. I think the seats are just fine without the pins in the seats.

Genelie, When mine froze up, I had to replace the whole bracket that mounts on the pedestal. I ordered it from Dick at Merritt. I now grease all moving parts on a regular basis. No more problems. Geaux Tigers!

The pin you are talking about is inside of the small knob shaft that allows the seat to swivel. If that sucker seizes up your probably out of luck. I broke mine trying to free it. These things are not salt water friendly. You gotta keep them greased. Good luck and Geaux Tigers!

Had same problem with my 03, 210 and had to drill out broken seized old threads and put in an all stainless steel plunger pin ordered over the net. This was after noticing the problem and fixed with lube and, broke try to remove and lube the second time. The aluminum and stainless steel mix was a bad idea around saltwater. Pins cost about 20.00 each but no worries now or lube needed.
