How low in the water does your 210/215 sit?
My 210 sits very low. The top of the scuppers sit 2" below the water level with one average sized person on board.
I have been having problems with water in the hull of my 210 ever since I purchased it (1.5 years ago) and have lost track of how (low/high) the boat should sit in the water. When I say water, I mean a lot of it. Recently the dealer had to drill 5 holes in the bottom of my hull and literally let the boat drain out overnight...we are talking about hundreds of pounds of water. They went through the whole routine of resealing all of the through-hull fittings and looking for cracks...none to be found. My best guess is that water is draining into the hull via topside from washdowns and rain. ???Must be a crack or opening into the hull under the deck. Does anyone have any pictures of their boat in the water with the scuppers showing so that I can guage where mine should be? |

Mac, it sounds to me like you could benefit from an inner hull drain. You may want to check out all the previous threads about those. Keep looking for the source of water into the inner hull space. Those of us with the inner drain, and no leaks, only get drips out of the inner drain after days of heavy boat use.
The water weight is definitely your problem and should be solved. Wish I had some ideas on where to look. Check your anchor rode locker for cracks in the floor. Water intrusion from there will drain directly into the inner hull. Others may have good ideas on where to look also. Chime in you guys. codfish |

Mac, I have a 2006 215 with a 450 pound Suzuki 175 on the transom. The bottom of my scupper outlets (ping pong ball enclosures) are just touching the water when no one is in the boat. In fact, the stern sits so high that during hose downs two of us have to stand in the rear to have the water run downhill from the bow area.
I hose down my boat almost every time I use it, and while in Baja really got into the wash downs since we had a lot of fish blood on the decks. We're talking gallons and gallons of water! As a precaution I drilled a test hole inside the stern using the bilge hatch for access into the foam filled void and then plugged it with a standard boat plug. My foam is so dry it feels like sand! It would seem to me that it's time to move from your dealer to the factory as far as support is concerned. I would NOT be a happy camper if your boat was my boat! |

Mac, I emailed the folks at Triumph about your boat and this was their response:

Thanks!
Thank you guys for responding...I have the boat at the dealer now...they will be contacting Triumph soon and I am in the process of writing a very descriptive email with timeline.
I will let you all know what happens. Many thanks! P.S. Please feel free to provide any more ideas or submit pictures as asked previously. |

To the manufacturer we go...
I dropped the boat off at our local dealer. We determined that there was nothing that they could do and they contacted the dealer to pick the boat up.
There was some issue (with the manufacturer) about how to get the boat to Durham, NC. My dealer solved it by driving it down themselves...(nice guys...I didn't even have to get involved.) So my boat is in N.C. and my summer of boating/fishing fun never materialized...oh well. On top of all of this...I turned on my Garmin 3010 and the display screen is burned out. I will keep updating this thread as I go along...I am really interested in what the factory has to say...someone mentioned that I may not have enough foam which might reduce bouyancy especially if the open space is 1,000 lbs of water... |

Update!
Ok. It has been almost a month since the manufacturer has had my boat. I just received my first report. BTW - This is heresay through my dealer...I don't have a synopsis in writing yet.
They found (as my dealer expected) that Triumph had not blown enough foam into the voids in the hull and that there were two voids that had no foam. I don't believe that they have diagnosed the actual problem of water leaking (pouring) into those voids. We are working on getting a better update and our dealer may be sending someone to the manufacturer to eyeball it themselves. Until next time...Forge On! |

On and on we go...
Alright we are heading into the second month that Triumph has had my boat. Still no hard answers to how the water is getting into the hull and how they intend to fix it.
I am totally bummed...I have had my boat for over one year and have less than 30 hours of time on the engine...now I have missed the summer...and will begin to miss the fall rockfish season. I bought a new boat so that I wouldn't have these issues. I am beginning to lose confidence... On and on we go... |

McCallan, not to be funny but I feel your pain. My boat was delivered at the end of May. I have 163 hours on the engine. It has performed flawlessly so don't loose faith.
Have you called the factory and told them of your concern? What has been the response? I would certainly like to know since, living all the way out here on the west coast, if something catastrophic like that were to happen to my boat, I can't imagine how long the repairs might take with the added hassle of 2,600 miles of shipping each way! Please keep us informed. |
