Talking 210 bilge pump

I am replacing the bilge pump, 1100 Rulematic in my 2004 210. Does anyone know the secret to removing and replacing the wiring into the factory connector? I would like to use it if possible.

I have had to replace mine a couple times. What I have done is to cut the wires to the plug several inches from the plug. Then I soldier the new wires on and coat them with liquid electrical tape to make it water tight. I have had no problems with any of my connections.

Thanks K9 that's probably what I will do. I just always try to avoid more connections.

You can also buy waterproof crimp/shrink on butt connectors that will give you a tight new connection that can be disconnected and reconnected if ever necessary. I buy mine at Boaters World. This eliminates the factory plug which becomes just an added place for corrosion to start.

I found that Carquest and Napa had the three prong plug used on my 2003 210 when I replaced mine. Since then I have added a second pump and carry a spare, all with the same connector. I can swap out either pump in about two minutes. Piece of mind on the long hauls..........
