Baitwell

I have a 215 and I was told that the clear plastice piece in the baitwell was a light. Well I was never able to get the "light" to work so I unscrewed the access panel and saw that there was no light bulb. It was just a clear piece of plastic. Anyone know the purpose of this piece?

I think it is supposed to be a light. On my first 210 the bulb came loose and fell behind the access. Yours may be back there. There was an access plate on the outside of the baitwell and I had to fish around till I was able to get it back in the socket.

Just checked mine. Light comes on when the baitwell switch is turned on. Mine is the on/off only type.

Looked in the access hole again and could not find any wiring or a light bulb socket. Checked my baitwell switch and it is only two position on/off. There isn't much space to work throught the access hole because of the drain line for the livewell, but I guess I could stick a hanger down there a fish around. Anyone have a 215 with a baitwell light that works? If so, what color wires are used?

Bigmall,

According to my wiring schematic, for a '04 210CC, the wire colors for the baitwell circuit wires are; brown/white and blue/white. That should mean they have white stripes over the predominate color.

Only problem with this info is that your 215 may not have the same wiring harness, since Triumph buys them from a supplier and the design could have changed from 2004. That is my disclaimer. Sounds like it is time to approach your dealer with a warranty issue.

Good Luck, Codfish
