Bad Day

Hi All,
Sorry to say my first experience with a 210cc hasn't been to good. I have a ATF leak in a trim tab actuator port side that wasn't found until I filled the resevoir and noticed it went dry. I'm not sure what to do..if the ATF made it into the foam region of the boat I could be in a bad way. I'm not sure if the dealer used a tube to isolate the feedthru to the transom. Anyway the boat flies like the wind if I can get this problem fixed I bet I'll have a good boat.

Dave, and Dave! I moved the post to the Tech Talk forum to see if Dick and others can help out here. Dave, what kind of Trim Tabs do you have? Where is your dealer located? Obviously they are your first line of defense on the problem. Is it a new boat? If so they should take care of everything. We have a good presence on the board here by Tabman from Bennett Marine and I can get you an email to the Lenco rep if you need it.

Hi All,
These are Bennet Trim tabs on a 05 210cc t-top. I got the Boat from Johnson Marine in Ontario, Ca I have spoke to Jarred who will be fixing the problem in the morning. One thig that's bugging me is that I didn't recover the entire fill. I wonder where the rest of the ATF fluid is?. I'm hoping it went into the bilge area and was pumped overboard.

Dave, The ATF won't harm the foam if it went into the inner hull. It will migrate to the bottom of the boat and can be drained along with any water by installing a 3rd drain on the transom. I think some guys have pictures of their 210s with this mod. Call me if I can help.

If anyone does have pics of their 210 with inner-hull drains, please do post them. I'd love to see them.

I'm considering installing some - though when I called Triumph once they said that "just as with any other modification to the hull, doing it yourself could invalidate your hull warranty" - but I don't think it's as simple as that, as long as it's installed the right way, in the right place (just like performing your own maintenance on an auto - if you do it right, it shouldn't invalidate your warranty).

I wouldn't mind paying a dealer $100 to install them, but I don't want to go through the hassle of delivering and picking up the boat and waiting weeks (to possibly months) to get the boat back.

Thx.

hull drain

Ladiesdrinkfree
(what's up with this name anyway?) You only need one drain, Dick at Merrit Marine will give you the specs, I can't believe Triumph would void the warranty for it, but I believe it is up 2 inches and over 1 inch from bottom of center of transom. It must be offset due to a steel stringer that runs down the middle of the hull. The drain part is cheap, 5 bucks for plastic or $10 for stainless, you must use Rule Elastomeric sealant however, talk to Dick at Merritt for info, he will send you what you need also. If not let me know I can show you the drain also.

Checkin da fill

Just view thru the clear base on the pwr unit and you should see the level.
There is a very small fill port that is plugged with a plastic plug. It is difficult to find if not looking for it.
