My best most cost effective recommendation is to run down to West Marine and pick up one of these http://www.propulse.se/english/index.html and work with the pitch adjustments till you find what works the best for your boat.

Even if you to not use it as your main screw, once you dial in the pitch that works the best, you can then have a good idea as to which one you need in a Stainless Steel model. These are never hard to take off the output shaft (no metal to rust weld on) and weight next to nothing. They can also (once you elect to upgrade if you do) get left in the boat in a bag as a back up unit that will never rust.

Some Mercury dealers on also part of the demo prop program that allows you to switch out a few till you find the correct combo http://sites.mercurymarine.com/porta..._schema=PORTAL
I would use the posted Triumph Yamaha boat test data as your best pitch and diameter starting point.

Eyecatcher,

I can't get you the link but would think if you search for "drain" you will find it. If not, PM me and I will walk you through it and provide some photos. Very easy to do. Remember that you should talk to your dealer, if you bought from one, to be sure they don't want to perform the work on warranty so your hull warranty remains intact.

Just noticed your boat is an '03 so the warranty issue may be mute. Did you transfer the hull warranty? The drain is not rocket science so I did not hesitate to make the mod to my boat in the first year of use. I get very little water out of it but just like knowing I don't have a water weight issue.

this sounds a bit high to me, I have a 210 with 200 Yam HPDI and most I've hit is 48 mph riding solo with low fuel. were you looking at your speedometer or GPS. GPS is the way to go for accuracy.

Speedo, but I've hit 48 on the GPS with a little room to go

super flat, saltwater........are you in fresh? Boats are slightly faster in saltwater and the more salt, the more buoyancy and speed

I know this from my kayaking days, the further south you go the more salt and buoyancy, and thus speed you can get
