That is whay I did with my first 210. Water in the bilge is going to be pumped out anyway.

it is "held " down by by the sure weight of the cover and it doesnt bounce and it cannot rock or cause you to injure yourself cause it lays on a flange very close to the edge.
i have never seen any sign of it coming loose from the floor while running 70 m.p.h. for 2+hours on the interstate. a screw here or there will give peace of mind ---but of all the things i've lost i miss my mind the most. i created a gasket out of rule that is a 1/2 in. thick that helps seal out water as this deck cover is somewhat heavy. i like to be able to wash the bilge out throughly after trips and being able to lift the cover off just eases the washdown and yes i sometimes flood the bilge just to get as much salt water out of there as possible. if you keep it screwed down i would definately replace the renky dink access cover over the pumps with a larger one 'nuff said berto

GGC,
Now that is one heck of an idea you had there. How about showing us a photo of the piece you added at the bottom of the rod storage cut out. I like that and am already contemplating adding it to my boat. I too do not worry about sealing my deck down after an inspection of the inner bilge area. Since water gets there all on its own anyway, why worry about the seal? If you rule it down, it will be very hard to get up the next time, I know, I did it that way once. Only once though. Codfish |

you can see the pattern i cut out from the fish box lid in the floor just below the hinges i can take the rear deck cover and sit it in this toe hold and it is out of the way while working in the bilge the access cover in the floor deck is actually a 190 center console access door that i got from merritt. it really makes access to the bilge easy when i dont lift it out of the way berto

I just took delivery of my new 195CC and I was disapointed that water on the deck will run into the bilge. I'm keeping it in a slip so that's sure to run down the battery. Being farily new to boating I guess I missunderstood what "self bailing" is. Other than that is seems to have been designed pretty well although I haven't had a a chance to see if the hatches stay dry or not...
