What you might check is the tightness of the electrical connections up under your console.
I found that some on my 150 were looser than I like when I was up under there hooking up a fish finder right after I got it. While you are up under there also take a can of marine lubricant spray and give the stuff a lite spritz just to provide some protection from dampness and corrosion. |

Check the wires at the sending unit under the deck. Easy enough to unscrew the deck behind the live well and check those connections also
