I'm looking for a handy spot to mount the fire extinguisher on my 215cc. Anybody got any ideas or photos?

Thanks, M I M

Mine is on the lower starboard side of the center console. It does not stick out any more then the support posts for the T-top so I never even notice it.

found a picture of its location

Your lucky day, well actually next 3 months as being a professor (yes I am ducking now) I have the summer off to fish! Well for the most part anyways, still have a lab to run, but that is what post-docs and graduate students are for .

I just sold my 210 but I had my extinguisher located on the console in front of the starboard seat.

No photo, but I put mine in the starboard side stern seat box. Out of the way but easy to get at. Also protected some from the salt air. I just show it to all that get on board so they know where it is.

Like you, I looked at mounting my fire extinguisher. After a few tries, I must admit that I gave up. Everywhere I tried my big feet were sure to knock it down (If not my big feet then my son's).

That is why we settled on the storage area that is under the bow cushion. We seldom use the bow cushion, so access is easy. We first went with the location that Codfish uses. While we certainly like his procedure of informing others as they board the boat its location (we need to start the same procedure, so thanks Codfish) we were afraid that any fire would be near the motor. We may be wrong in our thinking, so we also are looking for any idea that is better.

Several years ago on a Holiday weekend, I got stopped by the DNR for a boat equipment check. I carry several extinguishers up in the front foot box storage compartment. I was told that one had to be out where it could be reached quickly. I also had to have my throw cushion out too. The first one blew out of the boat off Hilton Head Island somewhere. It's replacement is tethered with a velcro strap.

did all you 210 owners move your fire extingushers?
Mine came mounted between the captains seats on top of the bait well. It is easy to get to and o ut of the way. I may make a light cover for the valve area, but I really havent had a problem with it there.
