I have an 03 210 and really haven't had an issue with my scuppers. The ones on the transom dont keep all the water out, but I have never had more that an inch or two in the splash wells. I cant recall even walking in water on my deck from there. Of course the wave I took over the starboard quarter did leave a little but it drained out fairly quickly when I hit the throtle.

Arden

I Have An '01 210 And With The 80 Gal Fuel Tank And A Heavy John. 140 4 Stroke. All This Extra Weight Is An Issue We Pre '03 Owners Have To Contend With. I Ended Up Buying Rabud Brand Ball Check Scuppers For Outside The Transon And Imo They Are Far More Better That What The Factory Is Using. I Also Have Had To Go To The Wing Nut Test Plugs As They Are Called In The Plumbing Trade To Keep Out What Gets By The Raubuds.

Guys With The 70 Gallon Tanks And Lighter 2 Stroke Engines Are Not Squatting As Much As Our Boats And They Are Not Going To Have That Much Inrush Of Water ---well Only Until The Balls Deform The Seals Where The Balls Seat On The Current Scuppers Now Being Furnished.

I Have A Bilge Pump With Alligator Clamps That I Connect To The Connectors In The Rear Box With A 6 Foot Piece Of Hose I Can Drop In A Floor Box And Pump Them Dry I Used Prior To The Wing Nut Plugs Or Should I Take A Rogue Wave Over The Gunnels

Scuppers

Hi thanks. I ordered some duck billed scuppers from Merritt and the factory is sending me a pair also. I agree that there is more weight in the early models. I will keep your solution handy as a plan B.

K9Reno,
I'm with you. I've got the '04 210 with a Honda 150 4-stroke and haven't had water intrusion problems either. Like you, I get an inch or two in the splashwells, but no water coming onto the deck. I'll count myself lucky in this situation.

I have had a problem with water coming in from the scuppers on my boat and filling the back fish boxes. It has happened whenever I've had extra weight at the back of the boat. Last summer I left a box with downrigger weights in one of the back seats overnight and the next morning water had filled the back floorboard and port side fish box. The bilge pumps it out if the bilge hatch is open for the water to drain in there, but it was a nuisance.

I have gotten a set of Duckbill scuppers to install and will let y'all know how these work.

I guess I am lucky too, still not sure what you all are talking about, I have read this and other threads, trying to understand...So that I would not look dumb if I ask the question what is a scupper. So I guess I am going to ask, I assume after reading, that the scupper if the flap that keeps water from coming onto the deck from the splash wells?? If so, then I guess mine work great. I never had an issue. The water in the splash wells drains nicely, with the exception of an inch or 2 during trolling or just drifting.

I'm having a problem with the ball scuppers on the outside of the transom. They don't seal well when there is a lot of weight in the back of the boat and water pours into the splash well and then leaks thru the flaps and onto the back deck and into the fish boxes. When I get the boat on plane all the water drains out with no problem. And when trolling or drifting the bilge takes care of it but it would be nice to have the deck dry. It is just a matter of getting the right scupper setup so that either the ball scuppers seal like they are supposed to or the new Duckbill scuppers take care of it. I have a feeling that these Duckbill scuppers will do the trick. I'll try to post a picture of them when I get a chance. I don't see how water could get into them from outside the boat and they look like they would drain though.

Here you go guys.. I had to look it up the first time I heard the term also.

scup•per

Pronunciation: (skup'ur), [key]
—n.
1. Naut.a drain at the edge of a deck exposed to the weather, for allowing accumulated water to drain away into the sea or into the bilges. Cf. freeing port.
2. a drain, closed by one or two flaps, for allowing water from the sprinkler system of a factory or the like to run off a floor of the building to the exterior.
3. any opening in the side of a building, as in a parapet, for draining off rain water.

I have found out that if your scuppers with the little plastic balls are on upside down or not perfectly straight up they will leak water if you look at where the ball seals the hole its not in the center. Found this out when i repositioned mine.
