swim ladder, transom saver, ball check scuppers
Did a search to try and find specific posts i remembered regarding these topics ,but there were just too many to read through. So , I will do a quick show and tell regarding these as they pertain to a 210/215.
The swim platform one step ladder provided on the 01 model was just not an option with this new knee---now that I think about ,I was more tired after climbing up and down working on the boat than a full day of fishing. Also when stored it would deflect water and was bad about coming loose and "plowing" the ocean. I had seen another owner do this mod and was gonna add my install pics as a way of thanking him ,but i could not find the thread. now i got to get one of those sweet hand rails i recently saw and i will be set. i would think this 3 step model would enable a diver to board as well I had half of an old transom saver laying around and after hammering the handle of an old screwdriver into the end ,i was able to make it work on the 210 trailer. it fits snugly between the flanges of the motor lower unit and the screwdriver is long enough to keep it from coming off at the trailer end i also got the new rabud ball check scuppers put on and not nary a drop of water entered the splash well areas while i tested the boat yesterday.. I would recommend anyone with the t-h models that have water issues to pull them and check to see if the area where the ball is to seat against is worn/deformed from use. the rabuds only have a 1" drain opening ,however being smaller they dont slam and rattle as much as the others . and should i take on alot of water on the deck from a wave, i have a large access door i can open and let the bilge pump handle it

it is a windline model 28253 . i had actually selected this one in error cause i was wanting the stainless steel steps. However , i find the plastic steps more comfy due to their being so wide.i had to use a 1/2" block of starboard to raise it up level with the s.s. horizontal rail. there is a s.s. bracket under the platform that the front screws go through and that really firms up the install. got it on sale from overtons's which in my hometown, but it is available from all the other places as well thanks for the flowers--poor boys have to figure all this d i y out stuff to survive!!!! just a heads up--wait to you see where i have moved the water hose connection for the washdown pump. original black hose going to the inside console location has rotted away and i am not removing the livewell/seat section to change it out and it is gonna be in a much better location. 'spect to see this on the '09 model!!!!

hey vic
i doubt it will make the 09 model year ,but moving the washdown hose outlet to the splash well and the pump to the bilge puts my mind to ease that i dont soak my electrical system should one of the hose connections fail the pictures are not all that good ,but i think you can get the gist of what i did. i will be putting a marine grade outlet where the old washdown outlet was on the side of the console to enable the onboard charger to be energized w/o having to hinge the console open to plug it in berto

Our new Ladder is installed.
We went with Berto’s recommendation and chose the Windline WIN-TDL-3 Telescoping over Platform Ladder. We chose the West Marine 12 inch Stainless Steel Handrail, Model 489112. Like Berto, we felt that the wider steps would be easier on our feet. We installed using 1/4-20 by 2 inch Stainless Machine Screws and 1/4" by 1 1/4" stainless washers with stainless lock nuts. My drill must not be as good as Berto’s because I could not get thru the bracket under the platform. There is a washer on each side that holding onto that bracket though. I also used the Starboard as Berto described. The biggest challenge during the install was making sure the brackets were parallel so that binding did not stop the ladder from either opening or closing correctly. I used C-clamps to hold the mounting brackets before installing. This helped me find and hold the best mounting position before drilling.

That Is A Great Looking Install There Vic. I Think You Will Find The 3 Step Ladder A Treat To Use. I Can Only Think That Old 1 Step Original One Contributed To My Knee Giving Out As I Would Be Worn Out If I Spent Any Time Working On The Boat And Had To Do Alot Of Getting And Out Of It
