Little Casino
Last summer I was on Lake Superior with relatively calm conditions. When the engine and tabs are trimmed appropriately, I can hit 55 mph as monitored by the analog speedometer (not real accurate). According to my GPS/Sounder, my top end was 52 mph. I have the standard black steel prop that came with the engine. I suspect that it could go faster with a high performance prop. |

Nice Job
Hey Spanfang, Nice looking install. In viewing your photos I noticed you have Bennett tabs. Could you post some photos of the hose routing and the mount location of the pump/reservoir unit? I want to mount some on my '04 210CC and would sure like some visual assistance. Thanks, codfish

Bennet Tabs
Codfish
The pump resevoir unit is in the under the console (I believe). When I mounted my transducer for the GPS/Sonar, I had to open up the floor panel to route the wiring through the wiring channel and into the console. The hoses each seem to run through the underseat storage areas in the rear of the boat and on through the hull. Rule Elastomeric sealant was used to seal all holes in the hull. If I get a chance, I'll try to take some pictures. My boat came from the dealership fairly loaded (trim tabs already installed) so I haven't had the pleasure of installing tabs! |

Spanfang,
I can't find an online store at fisheriessupplies.com. What size togglers did you use? I'll try to find at another source. Would these work? http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...roductId=80167 Thanks! Quote:

SS Togglers

Yes, these are similar to the togglers that I used. I would go with the 3/8 size (mfg. part number 3310MP). When I installed the downrigger bases, I had to drill the holes and then create a cavity in the foam below the surface so that the toggler plates would have room to rotate into a flat position (note - narrow screwdriver and shopvac worked well to create the cavity). Also, you won't be able to get all the foam out and the toggler plate will pinch some foam between the plate and the underside of the gunwhale. So, I had to retighten the screws a few times before they finally achieved adequate purchase. Good Luck |

Thanks Spanfang. I sure liked your price better! 8 of these will be about $64 without shipping! But still cheaper than buying just about any Canon accessory.

SS Togglers

Here's the URL for Fisheries Supply: http://www.fisheriessupply.com/online/default.asp Do a product search on "SS Togglers". You should find four items. I selected the 1/4 inch stainless steel units which were $6.32 each (my quotation of $30 was per downrigger with shipping). I chose the 1/4 inch size because that allowed me to use the bolts which came with the downrigger bases rather than the bolts supplied with the togglers. Cheers |

Cannons on my 191 FS
Mounting the Cannons was a piece of cake. Well I am sure glad I took the advice on this site and used the stainless steel togglers to mount my downriggers. It could not have been easier. The slope on the 191 prevented me from mounting them as far aft as I wanted but still I think it will work out fine. I used a little thread lock to keep the stainless stell bolts from loosening. The togglers seem to make a very secure connection indeed. For now I've got the smallish sport trolls on there as I already owned them. I can upgrade later to larger models several of which will fit into the same bases. Cannon sure gouges you for accessories like longer booms and swivel bases; an absolute rip off. Anyway, can't wait for some deep Kokanne trolling!!
