New Radar is in

Okay I am excited. I finally after many months of saving, and getting prepped. My NEW FURUNO 1724 COLORED Radar / GPS is in. Wires are routed through T-top legs, like all my other wires, That was fun..NOT. Bigger wires, means new adaptation. I had to find custom gromets. Ended up using PCV gromets, used on cars PCV valve. looks okay. I had Custom Marine here in San Diego do the final touches, LIKE they had to run the wires from the dome to the unit, SINCE at the end are 2 large plastic snap pieces, that they take apart, ( this way if it don't work I can blame them. Hee hee) And put back together once they thread through my t-top legs and counsil. Plus I had them install the dome, what the heck, why not right? Plus they calibrate it as well, WHICH was cool we take the boat out in the bay and they do what they do. Great service..But the price OUCH. All in all I am happy and excited, Now all I have to do is learn how to use it. I will post pictures I hope by this evening.

Congrats on the radar, very nice to have. It certainly brings the pucker factor way down when running at night.

We have been considering installing a radar on our 215. Up here in Eureka the fog gets pretty darn thick and having radar on those early morning tuna trips can really help.

I have been thinking about installing the exact same radar on my 215cc, but I'm not exactly sure how I would mount it because of the canvass T-top. I see that you have a plate in the middle of your top, was that plate original or did the installers add it? Also, would you mind posting more pics of your T-top, I think yours is different than mine.

Thanks

-JB
