bow mounted motor

Hello, I was reading some threads here about potential problems rigging a bow mounted trolling motor on triumph's with bow rails, I'm currently looking at a 2006 21' with bow rails and was wondering if there have been any design changes to the 06' models to accommodate a bow mounted unit. I don't want to have to alter the bow rail unless I really have to. Thanks again for all the help everybody.

I'm currently looking these, any opinions?

I went with this option on my 210 cc with bow rail. It works fine for me and can push my boat at 3 mph.

k9reno:
Have you already or can you provide more info on this cool mod that you have added?

I am wondering if it would help me in the smaller lakes that are abundant in my area. I like to bass fish in these smaller Texas lakes and the 210 although its pretty big it has a small draft and maybe I could manuever in some of the smaller coves where the big mouths hide.

Thanks...

That is a Minn Kota riptide 80lb thrust motor mounted trollin motor. the control is a single dial i mounted on the cc near the wheel. it works great I and slow troll real well now. It has pushed my baot up to 3 mph and had great battery life so far.
There are some draw backs though. You need to have at leat 13 inches of water above your cavitation plate on the motor to keep the prop submerged and that means you need to keep the motor trimmed down. I can troll around with it in between 2 and 3 ft of water w/o a problem. You steer the boat like you would with the motor. makes it harder I am sure to work a shoreline alone chasing those green striped fish with the large mouth, but for me trolling for stripers and walleye works great. I can also move around reefs with out having to fire up the gas burner.
