Cutting board for 21' Triumph

It's pretty easy to build using 1/2" starboard. I bought the starboard at San Diego Plastics for the best price. (West Coast)

The base board is cut long enough so that it extends 1" past the two stern seat arm rests. It does not effect passengers sitting in back. The front to back distance can be whatever you feel good about. Notice the the base board has two arms extending back on both sides. That allows the fish parts to be washed away without ending in the splash wells.

The side panels are 2.5" high on all three sides. The two bends were produced with a heat gun.

You cannot see it but there are two 1/2" by whatever width stiffeners that will fit between rails. Don't know if they are needed, but just added just in case.

Everthing is held together with stainless wood screws.

There are one strip of adhesive backed rubber tape adfixed to the under side of the base board on both sides to align with the top of the arm rests to prevent slippage.

The whole thing is held in place by two holes drilled through both the base boards and the arm rests one on each side. Two holes seem to be sufficient to prevent any movement of the cutting board.

This was designed for a 21' Triumph, but the concept can be modified to fit other boats. I built one for my SeaSwirl that is held in place with two aluminum angle irons bolted the the sides of the splash wells, and held in place with two holes drilled through the cutting board and the aluminum angle irons and attached with a two stainless detent (?) pins, one on each side.

I didn't think about the two extension my son added to his cutting board, but of course, I do not clean the fish on my boat,

Or my son's boat.

It could be as wide or deep as you would like. The thing is designed to come off very quickly after fish cleaning so there are no restraints.

We wanted to keep both of ours small enough so it could remain in place to be used as a bait cutting table also and not get in the way. It's also a great place to throw a couple plastic tackle storage boxes too.

My cutting board is smaller, but is has had 30-35# fish cleaned on it. If the fish are any bigger than that the boat deck is always available.

Tony, you are my hero!! I was looking at a regular 48 " cleaning table, that I was going to buy with 2 adjustable rod holder inserts..and put in the same location....which would of worked but COSTLY.....how much for the prefab one???? and where again did you buy ??

That is a beautiful job. Can you raise your outboard when the board is attached?

The position we placed the cutting board gives ample room to make adjustment with the trim while running, BUT it has to be removed prior to raising the motor for trailering. It only takes the removal of two wing nuts.
