You are right. This is where the motor lead harness connects to the wires coming from the two batteries in the center console. Like all battery leads, Red is +, Black is -. You should be able to jump start the motor from these terminals. If it smoked your jumpers, something must have been or is connected wrong. You need to check this out and make sure that things are right. Did the motor crank when you tried to start the motor? A locked up motor or starter will cause jumper wires to get hot and smoke when you try to crank the motor. If the jumpers smoked when you connected them to the terminals then something was connected wrong. Hope this helps, Bob
