Have any of you seen this before. I believe I fried the pump leaving it on over the winter so it was trying to pump ice. at least it does not work any more.

That does not look fried. That looks like there was water in it and it froze. The expansion tore it apart.

K9,

After seeing the pic, I agree with Fischer "thats exactly what it looks like happened"

Another tip is....If storing your boat outside, another thing you might want to do (and this go's for all Triumph owners with T-tops in cold climates) is drill a hole at the base's of your T-top.( I will remind in the Fall) Water gets inside and it can freeze expand and cause major damage to your T-top.

Actually guys in looking at the pump first hand you can see that the plastic was over heateda melted streching into the position it is in. Plus the motor is seized up and will not turn. If the damage had been caused by ice expansion the pump would have split apart at the weakest point, the seams. I think ice did play a role in the though, keeping the motor from turning so that the pump would not circulate. But anyway you look at it the pump is dead and I need a new one.
The prices at cabelas is the same as Bass Pro Shops and many other places. The best price I found was at Star Marine depot. They wanted $15 less than any place else. I went and ordered the replacement from Bass Pro Shops because I have done lots of business with them in the past and Star Marine was an unknown.
