Fuel tank siphon fitting

While out fishing in the Delaware Bay this past week in my 2001 210 the engine started to run rough and would stall out. There is an anti-siphon fitting on top of the fuel tank, this fitting comes in contact with the removable floor panel. My guess is that since the floor panel in somewhat flexible the pressure from walking on this valve caused it to weaken and finally split. Luckily it was found quickly. I had to remove the fuel gauge sensor(float), cut the fuel line and stick it in the fuel tank and made it back to the dock. Installed a new valve, $15, and was back fishing in two hours. Very poor design for the location of this valve.

Thanks for the info, I have the bar from the front hatch that I converted to the split style, I'll see if it fits then I'll have twice the support.

Have you modified your transom wells? Mine were full of water, and the pads were water logged and full of mildew.

And is that a wash down pump I saw in the bilge area?

I Left The Bar On The Mega Lid After I Split And Hinged The Lid. Relocating The Rear Deck Bar To The End Of The Tank Didnt Make The Front Sag More ,but Im Sure It Wouldnt Hurt To Have 2 Back There
Good Eye!! I Moved The Washdown Pump That Was Installed Inside The Console To The Bilge. Pickup For The Pump Water Is Closer And I Moved The Hose Bib To The Splashwell As Well--so There Is No More Chance For Water Taking Out My Electrical System

You Can Just Begin To See The Clear Screw Out Inspection Plate I Installed In The Splashwell. I Did Away With The Foam Block That Only Floated Against The Covers And Caused Them To Leak Quicker. Now I Just Screw Them Off ,wet Vac Them Dry And Screw 'em Back Closed---piece Of Cake
