Question Steering stuck.

Have 2006 215CC boat that has been sitting for about three months due to a deployment. Returned this week trying to get here ready for the 2007 Catching for KIDDS Fishing Tournment. All sytems check well as I was leaving the dock the steer lock to starboard and never turn back. Where should I start my trouble shooting ? Last time this happen the boat warmed up and a little tug by me and she unlocked . This time I had no luck with the tugg, but it was getting dark and cold here in VA . So back to the boat in the AM . Where is the resviour for the hydrailics ? Thank you for any help. Trying catch some Rocks before I had to the Sand box again.

Thank you

Rich

Hi Rich. Thank you for your service to our country. I would call my dealer if I were you to get some ideas from them on this, but I did a quick search on the site for threads that were related to this problem. Hope this helps:

210 hydrolic steering

If you use the Search link above, enter "steering" or "hydraulic" then click on Show Post and submit the search, you'll see several pages of posts with those words in them. But with Show Post instead of Show Thread you'll see a short section of the text and be able to search them all quicker. To do combined word searches enter "hydraulic steering" for just those words. If you enter both words without the Quotes it will bring up every post that has either word. But with the Quotes it will only show posts that contain the phrase "Hydraulic Steering".

Also I add hydraulic fluid on my 215 via a inlet that my dealer placed behind the steering wheel on the console. You unscrew the black cap to add the fluid. Your motor was probably rigged by your dealer so you may need to contact them to find out where yours is unless it is in the same place as mine.

Thumbs up Steering is BACK npw lets FISH

Check with my dealer and did they not want to pass to much information over the phone. He did give some information, but really want me to bring the boat in. I guess this is what hapens when a new owner takes over the dealership you bought your boat from. The Service manager does not me, nor the money I have spent with on this boat sense 2006. Thanks to help of this site and Carlos AKA Mudd runner my steering is back. Seems one of the check relief values loacted on the helm were clog. After three hours of trouble shooting from checking air in the lines to actually blow air through the lines as well as the proper bleeding of the lines. Followed the star lifter instruction to a the letter as well as buying fluid and the actual bleeding kit. A little messy but, BAM back in service ready to fish the Catching for Kidds tournament to support the USMC Toys for TOTs in the local Hampton Roads Area.

See you on the Water

Rich
