I've had my 2007 215CC for 1 year and what I do is hose them out and then use a towel to soak up what's left........or if it's near drained, when I rachet up the boat on the trailer, most of the rest drains out. I also leave my box lids open in storage (under boat cover) for maximum drying.

I agree, they were a bit shortsighted on the drain holes........but, I get by ok. The biggest issue I think I may have eventually is the small pieces of fishing line, bait, scales, etc....that drain through those holes - I suspect they'll clog something up eventually. Or, perhaps they drain out straight to the boat drain? I suspect they get to the bilge eventually before the boat drain?

thanks gator for the info. you are right i could leave them open to dry better.and all the bait and scales are going straight to the bilge pump , i cleaned my pump strainer today it was full of grass and leaves and i only have 29hrs on my boat. better check yours.if we put some kind of mesh strainer over the hole in the fish box it would catch all the scales and stuff but would not drain at all then. but that might be better than getting in to the bilge. what do you do about cutting bait on you boat do you have a bait board. i came up with one that mounts between the two aft seats looks and works good.have you had any big issue.with your boat you think i might need to know about see you later gator.

Because my boat and inlet is 4 hours away, I only fished about 15 times last year - and most of those are trolling offshore for kings, mahi, etc. When I do use cut bait - I use a cutting board, just leave it on top of the baitwell lid. I want to look into a rod holder cutting board, but not sure I want the bait on the side of the boat with the limited space in the back - I think I'd knock it in the water more often than not.

As for any other boat problems.........I've really had none. I'm very happy w/ the 215cc....I'm putting trim tabs on before spring - as the tends to lean w/ the weight of 2-4 folks on board and I've been told the trim tabs will help on that, as well as dealing w/ following seas, etc.

I didn't put the registration numbers on right the first time, so they are falling off - so I'll have to redo that.

I don't like the back seat, backs. Their hook/attachment set up stinks. They are always loose and I"m going to secure them better by spring.

The many fish boxes and storage, along w/ the rough n ready nature of the boat is perfect for my fishing trips.

It does tend to capture some yellow grind/dirt/stains that need heavy cleaning after 4-5 trips....perhaps that's due to me not giving it a deep, deep cleaning after each trip. I usually soap/scrub it down, dry her off and store it.....but it takes more than that every so often - or the yellow grunge sets in?

Enjoy. Gator

Gator, trim tabs will make all the difference in the world. I installed them this fall and they are great. I don't know how I got along without them all these years.

i didnt like the idea of haveing a cutting board in the rod holder either in the way. i will send some pictures of the one i made asap. i havent had any trouble with my seat backs a matter of fact they will not even come out.gator do you have a vhf on your boat if so what brand of antenna and what length do you have that is the next thing i need before going out to far. i would like to have a t-top bag that goes under the top i saw one on this site some where. that would be a good place to keep things dry. the storage compartments on the boat are not to dry. i guess i will have to look into some trim tabs too i have had the same trouble. let me know what kind you get ...... later gator

This is a picture of how I have my cutting board set up. It can be tilted more so it is further out over the water. I also like it being higher so I do not have to lean over.

This is just my preference or one person's opinion. I am sure there is a better way, I just have not found it for me.

GLEHAV, I hate to say this, but I don't know the brand of my VHS radio......but, have the info somewhere in my office. My boat is 3.5 hours away.....anyway, the antennae is rather long, likely 6-8'......I'll post my trim tabs once fitted in March...Gator
