2001 Logic 210 - Bin Lids
I recently bought a used 01 Logic, 210 CC. All the bins collect water whenever it rains or during washdown. I guess the lids don't seal and water doesn't flow quickly enough in the drainage channel. Our local Triumph dealer couldn't assist with drilling holes/drains etc. Are there any simple fixes or dealers in south LA to AL that could help me? Only the large bin in front of the CC has a drain. Also, I noticed there are 2 small drain looking plugs on either side of the fuel tank that enter into the general bilge area; what is being drained and should these be left open or closed?
Also, the boat does NOT have a bottom drain plug. This seems unusual. Not have a drain resulted in the bilge filling with rainwater and rainwater getting into the fuel tank. Not having a drain is going to be a problem washing down a dirty deck (because the guts & trash will end up having to go thru the bilge pump). On the forum, I see lots of issues with water behind the outer skin of the boat. Is this something I need to have looked in to or what? The boat runs & handles fine....just have the above nags. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can render - |

Scott, let me add that I believe the 2 drains you are referring to on either side of the fuel tank may be inner hull drains. These should stay plugged when on the water. But when the boat is at home on the trailer you may want to open those to allow any water that may have penetrated to the inner hull to drain out.
I find it very hard to believe that there is not a bottom drain (the brass plug that Triumph referred to). If it is not there for some reason I would have the dealer mentioned take care of that for you. Many of us have also added an inner hull drain off the back of the boat. It is not necessary for most boats if your hull intrusions have been minimized and sealed well with RULE Elastomeric, but I had mine installed as a safe guard. The master dealer should be able to install an inner hull drain as well if you want one. ![]() Quote:

Thanks for the quick reply.
If I understand correctly, the drain is on the bottom of the boat (and not at the back, near the transom area)? I've called myself looking underneath the boat, but sure don't recall seeing anything. Maybe the view is a bit obstructed by the trailer. My boat is in Mobile, AL at moment, but I am sure going to look for this drain first thing on my next visit. Regarding the plugs adjacent to the fuel tank, that makes sense that it would drain the inner hull. I guess in reading the forum, I came to conclusion there was no way to drain the inner hull. Or, are there more compartments. I am going to call the Mississippi dealer tomorrow and see if they will make the holes. The Baton Rouge dealer told me absolutely not. |

You access the main drain plug for the boat (with the brass T-drain plug) from within the bilge access. That is how it drains rain water that collects in the bilge while on your trailer.
If you had an outside inner hull drain installed (not installed by the factory but as an optional modification by a previous owner) it would be on the transom near the bottom of the V-hull, probably slightly to the left. Your boat probably doesn't have an external inner hull drain. Check out this official word from Triumph on inner hull drains: Inner Hull Drains...the official word from Triumph |

Drains & more drains
I must be blind, because I looked all over for a drain. Since the factory & you both say it's there, I obviously missed it. Come to think of it, my local dealer didn't know it was there either (they're the ones who flooded the interior of boat initially, causing water to get into the fuel tank - they had disconnected the battery and hence the bilge pump). This is priority one for me, so I will find out for sure and let you know if there isn't a drain.
Regarding the drains for the fish boxes....do I understand that the factory solution entails drains out the bottom of the boat (and not to the bilge)? This is contrary to my upbringing, in that holes below the water line should always be minimized. Any thoughts? Regards again - |

I prefer draining water to the bilge but I'm not familiar with your model Logic. I would think that it would have drains to the bilge but they may not be as large as you'd like. Many owners or earlier models have installed drains that drain straight out the hull. Maybe someone that has done this can speak to it. You could also search for "fish box drains" as it has been discussed several times before in the forums.

I Have Circled My Drain Plug In The Attached Pic. It Is Just Behind I.e. Towards The Motor From The Ball Valve That Shuts Off Incoming Water To The Livewell/washdown
I Have Heard Of Another Owner Not Having A Drain But Find It Hard To Believe It Would Not Be A Factory Must. The 2 Small Plastic Plugs By The Fuel Tank Are Where Foam Was Injected And Very Seldom Does Water Rise That High Between The Skins. Suggest You Read Over The Logic Form Threads As They Are Specifically Written For The 01 210cc

Drain(s)
Thanks for the picture! This will be the first thing I look for when I get over to my boat in 2 weeks (or sooner). I am nearly certain this drain does not exist. The boat has the livewell compartment, but has no water source for it (which I always thought peculiar).
I believe I've been thru all the Logic forums. I'm kinda in the mode of chipping away at the issues one at a time related to water getting into & out of the boat. I started looking here because of issues relating to the drain and the bins, but now I'm a bit concerned about water within the hull (so I have a few more things to check out). The boat has a 130 Honda 4 stroke. Of course it is quite & smooth. The top speed is not real great, but I'm usually not in a big hurry to get anywhere. In the short time I've had the boat, I believe it's going to be a good match for my application. Thanks again and I'll take any suggestions - |
