I don't think it has anything to do with the hull. I would think it has more to do with motor height and or prop combination. I have a 195cc with a 135HP Honda I can go into a really fast and hard ( you better be hanging on tight) turn with the motor trimmed almost all the way in and have no cavatation at all. This is the first boat I have ever owned that could do this. BTW I also have a BMS stabilizer plate on my motor. http://www.bobsmachine.com/

Good point, I will have to look at the stabilizer plate.

When I had my 215 setup by my dealer, Merritt Marine, they recommended using the bottom hole for mounting the 150 Yamaha.

RSCOTT,
I had a stabilizer plate on my 170CC 60hp yamaha and I thought it helped the overall performance of the boat. I now have a 195CC with a 150HP Yamaha 4stroke. I thought about putting one on it but the boat performs well (still new) without any issues so far. What changes did you notice after adding the stabilizer plate to your 195CC. Thank you.

NCangler:
What pitch prop are you using? What's your max RPM?

Fridays off,
It planes quicker and does not wander back and forth at no wake speeds.

I am running a 19 pitch saltwater series yamaha prop which has had some addational cupping added to the edge. The rpm range is aprox 5100 at about 45 mph.

Merritt Marine put a 14-3/8x18 stainless steel on mine. WOT for me is a little over 5500. It has good hole shot though as I use the boat for skiing with the kids too.

I checked with Triumph on the mounting hole and prop and here was their recommendation:

The motor should be mounted in the 1st hole. Also a Solas 19 pitch prop is what we recommend.
