Bottom Painting the 210CC

Hopefully I am picking up my new 210CC from Johnson Marine in Ontario next week. So whats the scoop on painting the bottom of one these plastic boats? I know about the process of painting the bottom, what I am wondering is it even necessary as we no longer have to deal with blistering. If I am going to keep the boat in a slip and have the diver clean the hull every month what is the downside of not painting the bottom. Thanks for all the info on the site it has put my mind at ease about owning a boat with a plastic hull...

Smile Bottom Paint

Hello,
After being in the marina a few years I can say the fastest way to destroy your new boat is to put it in the water and let it sit there. It would be a shame to have to paint your new boat. The 210 is light enough to trailer and easy to put in and out. With Cabrillo launch ramp being as close as it is you may want to enjoy your new boat when you can without having to pay, pay, pay. It cost $9.00 to launch at the ramp.

When you say you were in the marina a few years does that mean you had your truimph in the water there? If so did you paint the bottom. If you didn't what happened to the ropelene under the water line? I have to say that having a boat in the water and ready to go at any time has got to be one of the best parts of owning a boat, however it sure is a quick way to ruin one.

Marina's

I had a 76 Reinell in the water (nightmare). At the marina it still involves the trek to the gate (angels) after parking and getting through the 3 locked gates, the stop at the fuel dock for twice the price . Then there is hauling of whatever you want to bring along down the ramp and that. Just a pain. It's not a marina boat. No head, Tv, nothing. It's only a 1800 lb boat. On the trailer you fill it, load it and put it in. You may have to live it for it to make any sense so go for it!. I was at California Yacht Marina in Wilmington, Rosie can hook you up. You will put 10 years use on it after 6 months in the water.
Have fun, Be safe.
