Depending on what you're fishing for that would require outriggers, you may want to consider using planer boards instead. We sell them in the estore here:

And here are some articles on using them:

They are great for spreading lines out away from your boat and are a whole lot less expensive than outriggers.

Hopefully it will be kingfish /wahoo/dolphin fish. Offshore fishing is all new to me and I'm trying to figure out what's really neccessary and what just looks cool. The only experience I have with planer boards was walley fishing in wisconsin. A fellow ran two of them off a single mast in the center od is boat. Is that what you're talking about?

There are basically two type of planers...in-line and mast boards. The planer boards that NCangler is talking about are "in-line" planers. They hook to your line and carry your bait out to the side. When a fish hits, it releases the planer so you can fight the fish. The planer stays on your line so when you get the fish close to the boat, just unclip the planer then reel in the fish as usual. They work great on smaller boats (like my 170CC) and you don't have to mount a planer mast (like your guide had in his boat). I use them for trolling for Stripers during the spring on my local river...they really let you cover a lot of water at one time...actually more so than outriggers.

If you are dead set on outriggers, there are several models that mount in rod holders or mount to your gunnels...a quick search of BoatersWorld.com brought up these:

Good luck with your search.

The photo below is from K9RENO. He mounted outriggers on his 210.

Hope this is what you were thinking about.

Another option might be downriggers.

If you are fishing for King/Wahoo/Dolphin you'll want Downriggers not outriggers. The good news is that you can mount downriggers and don't need a t-top for them obviously. There are several threads on the site and an article by LittleCasino on mounting downriggers. Many folks use rod holder mounts but I installed Tite-lok mounts for mine and liked them very much.

As I said, I'm inexperienced in offshore equipment. Great Pic Vic I want to do some trolling, but I don't know how effective it will be in the winter in S Texas. I see that spending money on all these riigers(Out and Down) can add up substantially. I assume the downriggers are for trolling deep and the outriggers are for near surface trolling. I have sooo much to learn

There is also what they call a siderigger that mounts in a rod holder and is really nice. It is a telescoping retractable boom, which will increases your transom spread. I have seen them and they are well made... going to buy a pair myself. Chad at Merritt Marine sells them and you can see them at www.siderigger.com.
